Foi eleito senador, pela Bahia, em 2018.
No Congresso Nacional preside a Comissão Parlamentar Mista das fake news.
No Senado Federal é o relator do PL 2630/2020 que institui a Lei Brasileira de Liberdade e Transparência na Internet.

Angelo Coronel is from Bahia, Brazil, and graduated in civil engineering from UFBA – Federal University of Bahia.

Brazilian Federal Deputy Felipe Rigoni has a degree in Production Engineering from the Federal University of Ouro Preto, a master's degree in Public Policy from the University of Oxford and in 2018 was elected 18 the first blind federal deputy in the history of the Chamber of Deputies.
